Half Filipino and half Egyptian, Karim was fortunate to have lived in many countries, including the Philippines, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Japan and the United Kingdom. He interviewed for a job at Atlantis in 2022, however, three days before leaving his home country, he was run over by a car and sustained injuries.

“I contacted my soon-to-be Manager at the Atlantis Dubai Contact Center and explained the situation. Atlantis was so accommodating and extended my joining date until I was fully recovered. Even before officially reporting for duty, I knew this organisation would be good to me. My primary responsibilities as an Agent Restaurant Reservations is to make dining recommendations for our guests based on their preferred date and time. The best part of my job is coming up with new ways to inform guests of our offering at Atlantis, delivering the message of ultra luxury.

The Contact Center is a whole vibe! The greatest quality about our team is the different nationalities. It helps us learn about other countries, their cultures, history and habits, which is useful when dealing with guests from all over the world.

Atlantis certainly presents many learning curves. I also love that there is room for development and moving between departments and properties within the Kerzner family, so we never have to stop acquiring skills and knowledge. And this is never a bad thing! In fact, it’s not easy to find this advantage at other companies and organisations. My medium-term development plan is to gain more skills and insights into different aspects of our resort, paying particular attention to our Food and Beverage division. If I am afforded the opportunity to transfer to another department, I would definitely be keen on Learning and Development within HR, due to my existing experience in this field.

I have a big family back in the Philippines and, of course, my family in Egypt. I am blessed with a wife and two little girls. My dream is simple: always leave a positive impact on people and always be dedicated to my craft.”
