Byron Vaughns is an American animation producer and Emmy® award winning
director of
animated cartoons . He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and has worked as an
Artist-in-Residence program in a regional school district whose students'
ages ranged from 6-18.

His background includes the development of animation concepts designed for
television, direct-to-video and theatrical motion pictures.

He has directed on Steven Spielberg Presents Tiny Toon Adventures and
Animaniacs, (Warner Bros./Amblin), and produced for The Pink Panther (MGM),
Dumb & Dumber (Hanna Barbera )and Casper's Haunted Christmas (Mainframe).
He was nominated for an Annie award for The Adventures of Brer Rabbit DVD
feature (Universal).

His experience is extensive having worked with writers such as Seth
McFarland, Joe Barbera, and Paul Dini and talented performers such as Danny
Glover, Wayne Brady, Nick Cannon, Wanda Sykes, D. L. Hughley and Persia

Byron wanted to share his knowledge of cartoon making with the public, so he
teamed up with his wife Betty, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Art
Education, K-1. They decided to create a cartoon workshop studio created
for young children & teenagers ages 5 to 17 whose primary interest was to
draw and animate cartoons. It was listed in Los Angeles Magazine's Best of
LA (1999) issue.

Many creative people in animation participated as special guests at the
workshop studio including Gary Owens (voice of Space Ghost ), Butch Hartman
(creator of Fairly Odd Parents), John Kricfalusi (creator of Ren & Stimpy)
and Steve Hillenberg (creator of Spongebob Squarepants).

Betty has credits as a Nick Jr. producer/animation writer/ voiceover
performer for the pilot (La-D-Da's First Nickel) and also worked as a
production assistant on Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs (Warner Bros.
Her background in animation production, coupled with her first love of
teaching children, was a natural segue for co-creating a place of learning.
Thus, she served as the Administrative Director and Byron served as the
Creative Director of their animation workshop studio.
A new version of the Vaughns' workshop studio (based on the older model) is
currently called Cartoon Gogo, which travels to students (children and
adults) and shows them how to do their own cartoons.

Byron says that "Cartoon Gogo offers a fun experience where children and
adults can learn the art of cartooning utilizing excellent one-on-one
instruction from professionals who have solid animation backgrounds in
traditional animation. The background of the instructors include either an
animation degree, strong knowledge of the field or actual working experience
in television or motion pictures (with such studios as Universal, Disney,
MGM, Warner Bros. etc.)."
